Wax on Radio was an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Wax on Radio was created in 2005 when singer Mikey Russell, bassist Harrison Taylor, guitarist Bob Buckstaff, keyboardist Scott Heatherly, and drummer Sammy Del Real met in the tiny suburban Chicago music scene, in and around the towns of Schaumburg and Lake Forest. The fivesome, came together through the recommendations of mutual friends, when Russell put out the word that he was looking to start a new band.
